i am the reverend porsha williams gates, m.div. (she/her/they). i am the child of Patricia and Patrick, the spouse of Jamal, the sibling of Patryce, the auntie of Jackson and Sydney, and the mother of a little dog named Paris. i have been nurtured by the city of Bridgeport and the Mount Aery Baptist Church.
my academic achievements include degrees from Spelman College and Yale Divinity School. i am pursuing my Doctorate of Ministry Degree in Creative Writing and Public Theology at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. my project centers on podcasting as the third space digital pulpit for intergenerational healing.
vocationally, i am a healer. this has taken shape in my professional roles as a pastor, public theologian, and social entrepreneur. my vocational work centers on social justice and intergenerational wholeness using various technologies, from preaching, podcasting, intuitive divination, reiki, and digital storytelling. i am a digital pioneer as the Founder of Porshanality Media, LLC.
